Eine Kommission hat 100 internationale Street-Art-Künstler ausgesucht, die einen sogenannten 'abandoned place' gestalten durften. Die Artbase: Wir holen uns Freiräume zurück! Ein verlassener Ort wird zu neuem Leben erweckt! Die Artbase ist ein urban art Festival, dass urbane Kunst mit verlassenen Orten verbindet. Über Monate entstehen an einem geheimen Lost Place in der Nähe von Berlin Street Art Werke aller Art! Den Höhepunkt des Sommers bildet das dreitägige Festival in der die fertige Galerie besucht werden kann und wir die Kunst in einem Fest feiern!
My Animalforms mural
The mural I was able to paint for @artbase_festival in a former hospital room of the Domjüch Psychiatric Hospital and Nursing Home is based on an actual event: During the time of National Socialism in Germany, in line with "Aktion T4" [T4 Program], many patients were murdered by the Nazi Party. Using this former mail delivery van, men, women, and even children, deemed mentally ill, were driven to the gas chambers. It was my wish and my intention to look at and deal with the site and the history of it and to paint a mural as a memorial.
